How to clean spilt beer from carpets

how to clean spilt beer from carpets

Having a party indoors and worried about beer stains on your carpet?

We recently had a client in our local Joondalup area, who celebrated their son’s 21st birthday with a party in their home.  Unfortunately, along with other beverages, a good amount of beer was spilt on the carpet.  This was not detected until the next day when they saw the stains and could smell the beer stench.

Having tried to remove the stains and odours themselves unsuccessfully, they decided to call in their local Joondalup carpet cleaning experts. We were happy to help out and successfully restored their carpets back to their former glory.  Needless to say, the 21-year-old was very relieved.

However,  they could have followed this easy DIY method of removing the beer stains and odour from the carpet if they had acted straight away:

Just follow these 6 easy steps:

  1. Mix a solution of dishwashing liquid and lukewarm water (1/2 cap to 500ml) and gently spray on the stained areas.
  2. Daub, don’t scrub, the stain.  Leave for five minutes.  Daub again and absorb.
  3. Treat the area with white vinegar & water (30mls/500mls lukewarm water) allow to soak for 5 minutes.
  4. Absorb again with an old clean tea towel or microfibre cloth.
  5. Sprinkle with Bi-Carb of Soda.
  6. Leave to dry – vacuum up afterwards.

By following these steps the stain should be completely removed. If you do this whilst the carpet is still damp, you should find that this will remove any stain and smell from the carpet.

However, if you need the professional services of a local Joondalup carpet cleaning business, we can provide that for you too.
